Dream Cycling - on the Mur Bike Path & at the Stofflerwirt
"From Gentian to a Welsch Riesling"!
The Mur, Austria's second-longest river, has its origins in Muhr in the outer zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The some 360 km-long Mur Bike Path follows this river for around 360 km, all the way to Bad Radkersburg and the border with Slovenia, with an elevation change of some 900 meters.
A trip to the Sticklerhütte and on to the river's source inside the National Park is a true delight for every biker and nature lover!
Landhotel Stofflerwirt is right on the Mur Bike Path and an ideal starting point for the tour. We also have a big car park for your vehicle, along with a secure bike garage with equipment for those occasional bike repairs.
We would also be more than happy to make arrangements for other hotels along the way, as well as for your return trip. Luggage transportation from one hotel to the next is also something we can take care of for you.
The sunny Lungau truly is a paradise for cyclists. Like the spokes of a wheel, the some 15 valleys of the Lungau radiate outwards. What a delight it is, pedaling along amid meadows in bloom, fragrant forests and next to rushing mountain streams.
Rustic alpine huts, imposing peaks and thunderous waterfalls are your constant companions along the way!
